Lawn Service costs go up over 20%

Just in case you missed it….

At the board meeting on Aug 2nd the board voted to hire another new lawn service. The cost represented a 22% increase in cost to $4575/cut from $3750/cut. Based on 26 cuts/yr this represents an increase of over $21,000/yr. What will this do to our monthly maintenance costs?

Plan on attending the next board meeting to ask the board about the possible maintenance increases.

The board also requests that no one speak to the new lawn service. If there are complaints about the service the board requests that you text them and they will speak to the lawn service. They will be making a number available for lawn service complaints for texts. No alternate method was announced if you do not have a smart phone and cannot text.

There was a heated discussion about who was responsible for the dead grass left by the previous lawn service, who used chemicals to kill grass rather than use a weed eater to trim it. A simple, low-cost solution is to replace the dead grass with mulch rather than sod. It is much cheaper and in the future no weed eating or chemicals will be needed to trim along the skirting or trees.
